Just wanted to pass this along.

The CEO and co-founder of The Oxford House, Paul Molloy, has agreed to join our online discussion boards at 2pm EST on Fridays through the month of December!  He'll be here to answer any questions and to contribute to the discussion.

We look forward to any discussions generated as a result of this gracious offer from Paul Molloy.

I'm a retired addictions counselor who has referred several patients to Oxford Houses over 20 years. I have nothing but positive reactions to the experiences those patients had. It's unfortunate there are so few facilities in the face of the need.

I was so happy to hear that some of the Oxford Houses do allow methadone maintenance patients into their homes.

The stigma of being a methadone patient is still very strong.

To have some houses MMF  Methadone Maintenance Friendly is a wonderful step.

DDF  Dual Diagnosis Friendly

Both of these designations are for free use.  A pamphlet is available.

Hello, i want to piggy back on your commet. Given the recognition that addiction is a "brain disease( NIDA), it is essential to include Dual Dx clients in all faciities. Rarely does one have  a addiction concern without mental health components as  a counfounding variable and Visa Vera.

Frank.  That is great.  It has been a problem in the past such that some 12 step groups did not think the mental health issue was germaine to what they were doing.  I tried to set up DDF  Dual Diagnosis Friendly as a designation for those groups that were friendly to use.  It was not acceptable at that time.
